When you buy a new product or have a beauty treatment, you expect to see results within a month, but how frequently does this happen? There’s nothing more aggravating than when a product claims to decrease fine lines and wrinkles but shows little to no change after a month. To make sure you’re never left disappointed in your search for younger, brighter skin, we’ve compiled a list of 5 cosmetic procedures that always deliver!
For anti aging treatment in Mumbai, you can book an appointment with Dr. Niketa Sonavane, Celebrity Dermatologist and founder of Ambrosia Aesthetics, Mumbai.
PRP
The blood is spun after it is drawn, and the plasma separates. Your own plasma, which is high in growth factors, is extracted by the doctor and used in a variety of ways. Then he uses it after microneedling treatments, injecting it in regions that have lost volume or elasticity, or using it along the hairline to encourage hair growth for the best results.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is one of the safest and most effective anti-aging therapies we’ve found. It’s a terrific alternative to hyaluronic fillers since it plumps the skin naturally, giving you a younger, brighter appearance. However, be prepared for some downtime: expect some redness during the first five days, and it will take around two weeks for your skin to fully respond to the therapy.
Microneedling
The treatments involve a manual or automated device with 8-12 thin needles that pierce the skin 0.5-2.5 mm deep. The wound healing mechanism encourages new collagen production by repeatedly injuring the dermal layer of the skin [which sounds worse than it is].
Microneedling, also known as derma rolling or collagen-induction treatment, improves skin texture while also reducing acne scarring, UV damage, fine wrinkles, and enlarged pores. For optimal results, we recommend two or three in-clinic treatments, however, you may conduct microneedling at home and get similar results.
While in-office microneedling treatments are the most effective (due to your derm’s ability to use longer needles safely.
Radiofrequency
Radiofrequency heats the tissue, promoting collagen formation and elastin remodeling in the skin to plump and firm it.
Another excellent in-clinic tightening therapy is a radio frequency (RF). Collagen breakdown and skin remodeling [the structure of the skin] are stimulated by radiofrequency. This therapy is beneficial for younger skin since it helps to avoid wrinkles and loose skin. After pregnancy, doctors prescribe this procedure to tighten the jowls (lower cheek region), under eyes, and loose belly skin.
IPL Laser
IPL lasers use light to enter the skin, which is subsequently absorbed by the blood vessels. The blood vessels are subsequently dispersed and reabsorbed by the body, resulting in a more uniform tone and reduced pore visibility.
If you’re serious about your glow, you might want to check into IPL. It’s been dubbed an “eraser” by top dermatologists for all those years spent sunbathing with baby oil. “IPL is a terrific and straightforward approach to eliminate brown spots, freckles, age spots, and acne scars,” says one expert. The pigment will be removed and the appearance of swollen blood vessels on the skin will be reduced after one to two treatments.”
Chemical Peels
A superficial chemical peel is a tried-and-true anti-aging therapy. Glycolic acid chemical peels, like the Fraxel laser, target tiny lines and age spots, but they do it much more gradually.
Wrinkles, dark patches, and even melasma can all be reduced with a chemical peel. To prepare your skin for the peel, your dermatologist may prescribe a topical retinoid or a mild acid regimen. After the operation, your skin will peel for three to five days, but you will not need to take time off work to recover. Your skin may get a little rosy after the treatment, but you may still apply makeup the next day.
Most patients have a series of monthly peels over the course of three to six months to get their desired results. Following that, patients can arrange as many maintenance peels as they need.
